Following a tip, the STF conducted a raid at Barapalli in the western Odisha district with the assistance of the Bargarh police and seized the counterfeit money.
In the state’s Bargarh area on Thursday, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch apprehended two people and confiscated counterfeit Indian currency notes with a face value of more than Rs 14 lakh, according to the police.
Following a tip, the STF conducted a raid at Barapalli in the western Odisha district with the assistance of the Bargarh police and seized the counterfeit money.
Two people, including interstate criminal Pattu Yadav (53), of the Barpali area and Balaram Meher of the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, were detained.
According to the police, a case has been opened at the Bargarh police station and additional investigation is ongoing.
