Srinagar: The EU delegation has supported India’s endeavour to usher in peace in Kashmir and said innocent people are being targeted in J&K.
Members of the fact-finding mission said they spoke to people in Kashmir and learnt that they wanted to see development in their state like any other part of India.
The 23 Members of European Parliament told reporters on Wednesday that the Kashmiris want to be like any other Indian citizen and wish to see development in their state.
An EU lawmaker said they don’t want Kashmir to become a second Afghanistan.
The delegation said they travelled to Kashmir to get facts and information on the concerns of the people and how they can help improve the situation.
