Bhubaneswar, 12 Jan. 2019: The Economic Offences Wing of State Crime Branch today took Jyotiranjan Beura alias ‘Golden Baba’ on one-day remand for interrogation in fraud cases registered against him.
The self-styled ‘Golden Baba’ was arrested by the Commissionerate Police on December 31 last year on charges of duping a resident of Barbil in Keonjhar district.
The EOW has pleaded for three-day remand of ‘Golden Baba’, but the SDJM Court in Bhubaneswar today granted on a one-day remand.
As it is a finance-related case, DGP RP Sharma had directed the EOW to take over the probe of two frauds case registered by Chandrasekharpur and Laxmisagar police stations against the accused ‘Golden Baba’.
On the basis of the direction, two EOW inspectors are investigating the cases separately. The EOW is probing all angles and aspects of the case including money transactions, trailing and other links of the accused self-styled ‘Golden Baba’.
