Guided by the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, VK Pandian’s recent tours to Cuttack and Mayurbhanj districts have highlighted his resolute commitment to development and public welfare.
VK Pandian’s tour to Cuttack exemplified his hands-on approach in reviewing the status of diverse developmental projects. With unwavering dedication, he assessed the advancements of significant initiatives and addressed public concerns. Among the standout projects under scrutiny were the ambitious mega pipe water supply schemes, a testament to VK Pandian’s dedication to ensuring essential resources for citizens. These schemes, valued at an impressive `1,258 crore, spanned Athagarh, Tigiria, Tangi-Choudwar, Narsinghpur, Baramba, Mahanaga, and Nischintakoili blocks. With a phased operationalization set to commence from January 2024, VK Pandian’s guidance ensured that these critical endeavors remain on track for timely completion.
VK Pandian’s attention extended to the preservation and development of spiritual sanctuaries. Engaging with temple committees and local communities, he orchestrated discussions about the evolution of the Dhabaleswar shrine in Athagarh, the Bhattarika shrine in Baramba, and the Pragala Pitha in Narsinghpur block. Emphasizing community involvement in preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), VK Pandian underscored the need to enhance facilities for pilgrims, showcasing his keen insight into the holistic well-being of citizens.
The visit to Narsinghpur’s community health center and dialysis facility offered VK Pandian a firsthand perspective on healthcare services. Discussions in Choudwar centered on the re-development of the OTM area into a thriving industrial hub, with VK Pandian soliciting the cooperation of local communities. Interactions with students from various junior and degree colleges at the Upper Baliyatra ground in Cuttack showcased his investment in nurturing the aspirations of the younger generation. Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s allocation of `63 crore for the inclusion of all Cuttack district colleges under the transformative 5T project underscored VK Pandian’s dedication to education and empowerment.
Continuing his journey to Mayurbhanj, VK Pandian’s visionary leadership cast a spotlight on the district’s progress. His meticulous review of piped water supply schemes valued at `1,771 crore across ten blocks underscored his commitment to enhancing water resources. Phased operationalization set to begin from November 2023 promises improved access to this essential resource, reflecting VK Pandian’s emphasis on timely execution.
VK Pandian’s impact resonated in the realm of agriculture as he evaluated ongoing mega lift irrigation projects. These projects, aimed at irrigating 17,500 acres in the Jashipur block, hold the promise of agricultural advancement. The groundbreaking ‘Drink from Tap’ initiative in Baripada municipality, a `67 crore investment, showcased VK Pandian’s visionary approach to enhancing daily life for citizens.
