In a significant move ahead of the elections, the Odisha government, under the visionary leadership of 5T Chairman VK Pandian, has introduced the ‘Nabin Odisha Magic Card’ as part of the ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ initiative. This innovative card, aptly named the ‘Passport to Prosperity,’ is designed to foster the academic, personality, and skill development of the state’s youth, providing them with a platform to realize their aspirations.

Functioning as a point-based smart card, the Nabin Odisha Magic Card will assess and acknowledge students’ contributions in various realms, including academics, creativity, sports, and social and community service. As per the government’s recent release, the card will ascend through Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels based on students’ performance in attendance, discipline, academic achievements, participation in extracurricular activities, sports, online courses, personality development programs, and more.

The card opens doors to a multitude of facilities, including travel concessions, phone/data recharges, Wi-Fi access, e-libraries, online academic courses, personality development sessions, coaching centers, skill development courses, career counseling, language courses (Odia and English), “Earn While You Learn” opportunities, volunteering programs, access to stadiums during national and international tournaments, exposure to journals and seminars, and visits to tourist spots and museums.

With VK Pandian’s leadership at the forefront, the Nabin Odisha Magic Card aims to revolutionize youth engagement and empowerment. The Chairman announced that the card’s registration process will commence on March 5, 2024, followed by card distribution on August 15, 2024. Emphasizing the technology-driven nature of the card, he stated, “The government will seek further input from students and teachers on the various activities that can be included in this points system, making it a revolutionary concept for youth engagement and empowerment.”

Anticipated Changes:

1. Student cards will be assigned and upgraded based on academic performance.

2. The cards will facilitate job and placement opportunities through data sharing with potential employers.

3. Entrepreneurial students will receive encouragement and priority loans through initiatives like the Swayam Scheme.

4. Additional benefits, such as discounts on bus, train, and flight fares, as well as access to phone and data recharge services, will be offered.

VK Pandian’s commitment to transformative initiatives reflects in the Nabin Odisha Magic Card, marking a significant stride toward the holistic development of Odisha’s youth.
