Cuttack,Dec.25 : A tusker, who had strayed into Odisha’s Cuttack city, has been chased away towards Dhabaleswar Gada area by Forest officials today.
A joint team of the Forest officials and police had undertaken the operation to drive away the elephant by bursting firecrackers and lighting flames.
Panic gripped residents of the city yesterday after the pachyderm was spotted roaming in CDA Sector-8 and CDA Sector-9 areas here.
While vehicular movement was prohibited in the area to avoid any untoward incident, locals were advised to stay indoors and choose alternate roads for communication.
