For the benefit of its inhabitants and to maintain a clean and green environment in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government began electric Mo Bus and auto-rickshaw service on Friday.
E-Rickshaws will be made available in Bhubaneswar by Mo E-Ride, who will also offer first and last mile connectivity. The launch of Zero Emission E-Buses, which will operate under the brand name Mo Bus, will work in tandem with Zero Emission E-Ride to promote green mobility and open the door to a sustainable future in the Odisha Capital region.
The following are the key facts you should be aware of:
Four of the current Mo Bus routes will now be serviced by the E-Buses. The E-buses will initially operate on Routes 9, 11, 12, and 23.
•There will be a 50% reservation for women working as tour guides in Mo E-buses, but a 100% reservation for women, transgender persons, and those from underprivileged backgrounds working as sarathis in Mo E-Ride.
•The Capital Region Urban Transport has also begun using female captains (drivers) on Mo Buses as of right now, which is a significant change.
•The cost of the E-Bus will be the same as the cost of the AC Mo Bus, and the same concessions that apply to the Mo Bus will also apply to the E-Bus.
•The Mo Ride service will have an inaugural flat fare of Rs. 10 only for a short period of time to gauge commuters’ attitudes about this new service.
•From July 29 to July 31, 2022, commuters will be given a free ride on CRUT’s Mo E-Buses as part of a campaign to encourage the public to adopt electric buses.
