New Delhi,22,Jan, 2919.: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has requested Delhi Police on Tuesday for filing an FIR on the possibility of tampering EVMs.
The poll body also requested it to investigate properly the statement made by Syed Shuja in London on
Media reports has said that one Syed Shuja claimed (at the event in London) that he was part of the EVM design team and he can hack the EVMs used in elections in India.
Reports said Shuja, who is a cyber security expert, claimed on Monday that he could demonstrate how electronic voting machines (EVMs) used in polls in India could be tampered.
Meanwhile, the EC has clarified that the EVMs cannot be tampered with. The commission asserted that the machines are manufactured following “rigorous standard operating procedures”.
