Dhenkanal,Dec.01: Sadar police on Saturday arrested in-charge of Beltikiri shelter home here on charges of sexually harassing the inmates.
Simanchal Nayak was arrested by the police on basis of a complaint lodged by the inmates of the shelter home. The managing director of the shelter home, Fayaz Rehman, is absconding.
According to the complaints of the girls, the accused often sexually harassed them by touching them inappropriately. They alleged that Fayaz was harassing them mentally and physically.
The girls in their complaint also alleged that accused treated the boy inmates badly and referred them as dogs and beggars.
Following the complaint, Police arrested the accused. A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding managing director.
