Puri: Continuing with its ongoing eviction drive in the religious town Puri, the district administration today started with bulldozing the unsafe Mangu mutt today.
As a part of the eviction process, shops and hotels located adjacent to the mutt was evicted first in the presence of the district magistrate. Around 4 platoons of police force were deployed at the site to keep any kind of disturbance at bay.
The demolition of the Mangu mutt was carried out by the administration post a consultation with its Mahant in which a relocation plan was offered to him.
Yesterday, a number of commercial establishments located adjacent to Mangu Mutt had been razed along with the remaining structure of the Emar Mutt.
