The Delhi government has decided to shut all the government and private schools the national capital tomorrow and the day after tomorrow given the deteriorating situation due to stubble pollution in North India.
Manish Sisodia said that the government has decided to shut all the government schools and private schools in the national capital tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
Manish Sisodia took to Twitter and wrote, “In view of the deteriorating situation due to stubble pollution in North India, the Delhi government has decided to close all the government and private schools of Delhi for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.”
Parents also took to social media requesting that schools be closed.
At 11.30 am, Delhi’s overall air quality index read 454. Jahangirpuri and Rohini were the most-polluted areas with an AQI of 483 each, followed by Mundka (479) and Bawana (479).
The Delhi government on November 1 had decided to shut all schools till November 5 after a Supreme Court-mandated panel declared a public health emergency in Delhi-NCR in the wake of spike in pollution level.
Schools closed in UP
All schools will be closed in Bulandshahr UP on November 14, 15 due to the increasing pollution, as per an order issued by DM Ravindra Kumar. The AQI in Bulandshahr today was recorded at 375.
Schools in Hapur, UP will also remain closed on November 14, 15 due to pollution. The DM in Hapur has also issued an order regarding the matter. The AQI in Hapur was recorded at 400 on Wednesday.
According to weather experts, a fall in the temperature and wind speed led to the accumulation of pollutants. The problem was compounded by a cloud cover that blocked sunlight.
