Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal was hospitalised on Sunday after she fell unconscious. She has been rushed to the Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP) in New Delhi, news agency ANI reported.
Swati Maliwal has been on an indefinite hunger strike for 13 days now, which had started taking toll on her.
She has been protesting against rape incidents in the country and had earlier demanded capital punishment for convicts in rape cases within 6 months.

On Saturday, she wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding immediate implementation of the Disha Bill — that provides for awarding death sentence to convicts in rape cases within 21 days — across the country.
In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Swati Maliwal had said: “I myself am on an indefinite hunger strike demanding a fixed framework for punishment to rapists… I wrote to you on the first of my fast, seeking immediate action of certain specific demands.”
