New Delhi: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has devised 15-day plan to reduce pollution in Delhi-NCR as AQI has crossed red line.
The AQI level in the national capital dropped to the ‘hazardous’ category even as the CPCB has devised a 15-day plan to reduce pollution by 17 per cent.
The plan focuses on seven spots in the national capital and nearby areas that have unpaved roads. Dust from these unpaved roads adds to the air pollution in Delhi and nearby areas.
The plan begins from November 1 and will end on November 15. The plan will focus on Okhla, Wazirpur, Mayapuri, Udyog Vihar, Sahibabad and two spots in Faridabad, according to reports.
Initially, the plan was to cover only the national capital but the officials eventually expanded it to cover NCR areas as well.
The CPCB member-secretary Prashant Gargava held a meeting with the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and the Pollution Control Committee (PCC) to discuss on measures to combat pollution.
