On Wednesday, 58-year-old comedian Raju Srivastava passed away. He had been a patient at the AIIMS in Delhi for 41 days. His nephew Kunal Srivastava confirmed the same to the media.
Although his health had recently improved, Raju’s nephew Kushal Srivastava affirmed, “Yes, it is true. He passed away around a half-hour ago. We are all in the AIIMS. His whole family is present. The final rites have not yet been determined.
On September 6, Raju Srivastava’s wife talked to the media and said, “All I can tell is that he is still on a ventilator and that his status is stable. We all ask for your prayers so that he recovers and rejoins us. The medical staff is doing their best.”
Ajit Saxena, Raju’s chief advisor, and some of his closest friends had prayed at the Panki shrine for a rapid recovery.
After taking part in the inaugural season of the stand-up comedy programme “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge,” Raju gained instant notoriety in 2005. In addition, he played roles in movies like “Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon,” “Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya,” and “Maine Pyar Kiya.” Additionally, he served as the Film Development Council of Uttar Pradesh’s chairman.
