Tomorrow, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate two significant irrigation projects on the Subernarekha and Deo rivers, enhancing the district of Mayurbhanj’s irrigation capacity.
During his visit tomorrow, the Chief Minister is also set to officially kick off a number of further development initiatives in the district.
At a celebration being held at Rasgobindpur, the Chief Minister will officially start the release of water from the Subernarekha Irrigation Project, which will irrigate more than 17,000 hectares of farmland. This is in addition to the project’s current irrigation of 15,000 hectares of agricultural land.
The irrigation project’s first phase was launched by CM Naveen Patnaik in July 2021. The Project, which is being carried out in stages, seeks to irrigate 1,14,200 hectares of agricultural land in the districts of Mayurbhanj and Balasore. These projects will result in enhanced agricultural production, which will significantly boost the local economy.
The Deo Irrigation Project in Karia, which will irrigate over 10,000 hectares in the districts of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar, is the second significant irrigation project that the Chef Minister will launch during his visit tomorrow.
