The snazzy BMC- Intelligent City Operations and Management Centre (ICOMC) tower on Janpath Road and the Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC), which will act as a digital platform for the fusion of various municipal services, were both officially opened by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday. Also, Naveen introduced the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Safa application to offer sanitation services to large trash producers for secure garbage disposal in the city.

According to mayor Sulochana Das, the cutting-edge skyscraper, built by Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) on 4.04 acres of land in 24 months for an investment of close to Rs 74 crore, would serve as the city’s service headquarters and facilitate a variety of city-level functions. The BSCL office has already begun operations in the new tower, and the BMC office will follow soon after, according to BMC commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange.

The ICCC is located on the first and second floors of the 11-story structure, while the BSCL office is located on the fifth floor. The third and fourth floors of the tower will house BMC’s new headquarters. The Deloitte Capacity Improvement Center is now available on the remaining floors thanks to government assistance. An official stated that the project is qualified for 5-star certification because it was created as a green building. He said that BMC will be able to convene its Corporation meeting and other formal meetings in the building’s 187-seat Ekamra Hall.

On the other hand, BSCL representatives claimed that the new ICCC, also known as the Bhubaneswar Operation Center (BOC), will support real-time data on city services such as citizen-centric applications, traffic signal monitoring systems, grievance management, city transport, tracking of solid waste vehicles, street light management, city enforcement management, and water treatment. Usha Devi, the minister of housing and urban development, G Mathivathanan, deputy mayor Manjulata Kanhar, BDA VC Balwant Singh, and other dignitaries were in attendance.
