On his way back, Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to meet the investors from the Middle East and adjoining regions in Dubai.
On Wednesday, Pope Francis and Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik met there.
A high-level group headed by the Chief Minister is visiting Dubai and Rome. The team will highlight Odisha’s “transformational path” in food security and disaster management when it travels to the World Food Programme (WFP) headquarters in Rome.
At the MG Memorial Statue in Piazza Gandhi in Rome on Tuesday, the Chief Minister paid respects to freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Patnaik said that Mahatma Gandhi, India’s father of the nation, is an inspiration to him and his beliefs.
Mr. Patnaik had suggested that the greatest tribute India could give to Gandhi on his 150th anniversary was to include the specifically Indian ideal of Ahimsa, of non-violence, in the preamble of the Indian Constitution in 2018 during the first meeting of the National Committee for the commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
At the time, Mr. Patnaik also cited Mahatma Gandhi when he said that growth is impossible without peace.
The Gandhi Talisman was unveiled by Mr. Patnaik in the Lok Seva Bhawan in 2019. He claimed that the Talisman would motivate everyone to strive selflessly for the cause of the poorest of the poor at that time.
Naveen Patnaik will meet with investors from the Middle East and surrounding areas in Dubai on his way home.
According to a statement, he will invite potential investors to come to Odisha and make investments while assuring them of the state government’s full support and assistance.
Additionally, he will meet one-on-one with several significant local investors. For potential partnerships with overseas investors, a high-level industrial delegation from Odisha would also attend the investors’ meeting, it was noted.
According to the statement from the chief minister’s office, Mr. Patnaik will also meet with members of the Odia diaspora from the Middle East in Dubai to discuss the state’s change over the past 20 years and to extend an invitation to collaborate with the state administration.
