In a decisive push to elevate Odisha as a premier investment destination, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has embarked on a crucial two-day visit to New Delhi, where a series of high-impact engagements with industry giants and government stakeholders are set to redefine the state’s industrial trajectory.
Accompanied by Industry Minister Shri Sampad Charan Swain, the CM’s visit signals the BJP government’s strong commitment to ushering in a new era of economic dynamism rooted in technology, energy, and sustainability.
Forging the Future of Industrial Odisha
During the visit, the Odisha government will formalize key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with major national players — Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Petronet LNG, and Indian Strategic Petrochemical Reserves Ltd. These strategic alliances are poised to transform Odisha into a petrochemicals and chemicals hub, positioning the state as a vital node in India’s energy and industrial roadmap.
“These collaborations are not just about investments; they reflect our intent to create jobs, fuel economic opportunities, and redefine Odisha’s role in the national growth story,” said CM Mohan Majhi ahead of the meetings.
The MoUs are expected to generate thousands of employment opportunities, particularly for Odisha’s youth, and significantly expand the industrial footprint in regions like Paradeep, Dhamra, and Angul, laying the foundation for a future-ready Odisha.
Purvodaya in Motion: Driving Eastern India’s Rise
At the heart of this mission is the vision of “Purvodaya” — the resurgence of Eastern India. Under the leadership of CM Mohan Majhi and Industry Minister Sampad Swain, Odisha is proactively seizing this moment by building a robust, forward-looking industrial ecosystem grounded in infrastructure, ease of doing business, and strategic sectoral growth.
Minister Sampad Swain stated, “Odisha’s rise is inevitable. We are aligning policy, talent, and infrastructure to attract investments across sectors — from energy and heavy industry to IT and innovation. This Delhi visit is a turning point.”
Spotlight on Technology: Visit to HCL Tech Campus
Demonstrating Odisha’s intent to blend traditional industrial strengths with modern innovation, the Chief Minister will also visit the HCL Technologies campus in Noida. This visit underscores the state’s drive to integrate digital transformation and tech-driven solutions into its industrial framework.
“Technology is the backbone of tomorrow’s economy. We want Odisha to not only manufacture but also innovate. Our youth deserve that opportunity,” CM Majhi emphasized.
High-Impact One-on-Ones with Industry Captains
In addition to signing strategic MoUs, the Chief Minister will also hold closed-door meetings with leading industry captains, exploring partnerships in sectors such as renewable energy, electronics, green mobility, and logistics. These interactions aim to customize investment solutions and unlock sector-specific growth pathways.
A Mission Beyond Meetings
This visit is more than ceremonial — it’s a mission to fast-track industrial development, showcasing Odisha’s evolving narrative as a land of opportunity, policy stability, and investor confidence. The state government has already implemented a suite of industry-friendly policies, streamlined clearances via GO SWIFT, and built best-in-class industrial parks — making Odisha one of India’s most investment-ready states.
CM Majhi is expected to return to Bhubaneswar on April 9, following what many believe will be a landmark visit for Odisha’s economic future.
Odisha is not waiting for change — it is creating it. With bold leadership, clear vision, and the BJP government’s relentless pursuit of development, the state is set to rise as a pillar of India’s industrial and economic resurgence.
