Paradip: At least six fishermen had a narrow shave after a fishing trawler which was carrying them capsized off Paradip coast today.
The mishap took place early in the morning today while the fishermen were returning from the sea after fishing.
As per the victims, the trawler carrying them suspected to have hit the parts of Mongolian ship ‘Black Rose’ which had sunk off Paradip coast on September 9, 2009 and yet to be removed from the water.
Soon after the sinking of the trawler some fellow fishermen on other trawlers swung into action and saved the lives of the victims.
Locals in the area have complained that a signal put up at the place where the black rose has sunk has gone defunct due to which fishing boats are facing regular marine accidents. They have demanded immediate action to solve the issue.
