Bhopal,Dec.12 : “We did not get majority, will not stake claim to form Government, I am going to tender my resignation to the Governor,” Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.
Chouhan conceded defeat and uttered the above statement at a press conference before going to the Governor House to submit his resignation to Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday.
The Congress has emerged as the single largest party with 114 votes, while the BJP won only 109 seats. Chouhan said the party had decided not to stake claim to form a government in the state.
