Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has issued an invitation for bids in order to choose a tour operator for the debut of the Mo Bus service in Rourkela on October 30. Rourkela is a steel hub in western Odisha.
According to reports, CRUT intends to engage a tour operator to deploy 100 new buses (70 AC and 30 Non-AC buses) by December of this year in and around the Rourkela municipal region. Depending on how much demand there is, the service may later be extended to areas close to the district offices.
According to reports, October 28 is the deadline for submitting technical and financial bids. They also stated that the tour operator would manage the Mo Bus service in Rourkela for an eight-year period based on a “gross cost contract.”
After examining the state of the cars and the calibre of services to be provided by the relevant tour operator, the contract will be continued and renewed for an additional two years. According to the statement, the buses would be registered in the tour operator’s name.
Currently, the city’s approximately 6.5 lakh residents can take advantage of city bus services provided by the Sundargarh Urban Transport Trust (SUTT). Now accessible in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri is the Mo Bus service.
