Bhubaneswar,Dec.10 : Commissionerate Police on Monday claimed to have cracked the case of the burglary at an IAS officer’s house in Bhubaneswar with the arrest of three youths including two juveniles.
A special squad arrested on Aditya Prasad Sahu and two juveniles from the city for their involvement in the burglary in the IAS officer’s quarter at Unit-VIII on November 21, the police said.
According to the reports, police have also seized Rs 2.52 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth of 3.5 lakhs, two laptops and one LED TV stolen from IAS officer Pranab Jyoti Nath’s house.
The accused and the juveniles will be produced in the court today, the police said.
Notably, miscreants had stormed the government quarter of Nath in Bhubaneswar Unit-VIII and made away with Rs 5 lakh and gold ornaments.
Nath, who works as the director of Industries Department, and his family members were away on a tour when the burglary took place. He had lodged a complaint in this regard following which a case was registered and a probe launched.
Initially, the police suspected involvement of the security guard and some workers in the burglary. The police had also interrogated two security workers and conducted a lie detection test.
