Kalahandi,Dec.13 : Body of a four-year-old girl who was allegedly murdered found yesterday on the outskirts of Balisara village under Biswanathpur police limits in Kalahandi district.
The deceased girl was identified as Indu, the daughter of Sandhru Majhi and Mati Majhi of the same village.
Indu was reportedly abducted late on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, her body was found lying in a pool of blood on the outskirts of the village.
A case has been registered at the Biswanathpur police station in this regard. An investigation into the same is underway.
Though the motive behind the murder is not known, it is suspected that the girl was killed for the purpose of human sacrifice or sorcery.
Tension has gripped the area and locals demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
