New Delhi: The BJP all set to form government in Maharashtra, but in Haryana it is eyeing for the Independents, according to sources.
In Maharashtra the BJP registered a massive victory with ally Shiv Sena. Haryana delivered a split verdict, where the BJP was the single largest party.
Party sources said BJP will get support from six Independent MLAs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described it as “unprecedented victory” and said the party intends to “work with the same zeal and dedication for the state’s progress”.
In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena, buoyed by a hugely improved performance, is preferring a 50:50 division of ministry berths and a turn at the Chief Minister’s post.
Haryana has delivered a fractured mandate. While the BJP has won 40 of the state’s 90 seats, the Congress has won 31.
