Setting the tone for the Jharsuguda byelection, the BJD sent senior party members to the block and municipality under the Assembly segment on Friday, appointing 12 more observers.
Two former ministers will be in charge of the Jharsuguda block, and the BJD has selected Pratap Jena, Pushpendra Singhdeo, Snehangini Chhuria, and Rita Sahu as observers for the municipality of Jharsuguda. Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Tukuni Sahu, two senior ministers, have been given control of the Kirmira block.
Kolabira block will be overseen by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari and Patnagarh MLA Saroj Kumar Meher. The Laikera block has also been given to Industry Minister Pratap Keshari Deb and previous Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra. Prior to the by-election scheduled for May 10, the party named prominent officials Prasanna Acharya, Debi Prasad Mishra, and Sarada Prasad Nayak as observers.
