New Delhi: The Central Government on Wednesday notified the appointment of Judicial Officer Bibhu Prasad Routray as a judge of the Orissa High Court in Cuttack.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Bibhu Prasad Routray, to be a Judge of the Orissa High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office, ” the notification stated.
The appointment has been made pursuant to a Collegium recommendation made on October 3. The Collegium had also recommended advocate Sanjeeb Kumar Panigrahi as judge of the Orissa High Court in Cuttak, Odisha.
As per reports, the Chief Justice of Orissa HC will administer the oath of office to the Judge-designate, Bibhu Prasad Routray, tomorrow at 2 pm. Notably, Routray has served as the District Judge of Nabarangpur and is currently posted at Berhampur.
