Bhadrak,October 29: Normal life was severely hit in Odisha’s Bhadrak today as members of Zilla Unnayan Sangharsh Samiti observed a 12-hour dawn-to dusk bandh in the district demanding establishment of a medical college and hospital.

While schools, colleges, shops and business establishments remained closed here due to the bandh, vehicular movement was disrupted, especially in Bhadrak town.

The agitators blocked National Highway in the district and also staged ‘rail roko’ at Bhadrak railway station, thereby affecting movement of vehicles and trains.

However, ambulance and other emergency services were excluded from the ambit of the bandh observance.

Till last reports came in, there were no incidents of any violence or untoward situations as the agitators have been asked to observe the bandh peacefully.
