Earlier, the men’s kabaddi team had defeated Sri Lanka 44-28 in the second Group A match after opening its campaign with a 50-21 win over Bangladesh early in the day.

The defeat has come as a major disappointment for the Men’s kabaddi team which had won the gold medal in the last Asian Games held at Incheon in South Korea.

On the other hand, 19-year-old Lakshay Sheoran won a silver at the 2018 Asian Games Men’s Trap event. He was making his Asian Games debut and ended with 43 shots, five behind gold medallist Yang Kunpi of Chinese Taipei. Notably, Lakshay’s silver is the third medal India has won in shooting and the fourth overall. India’s Manajvit Singh Sandhu finished fourth.

Earlier, Deepak Kumar had managed a silver medal finish in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event while Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar had clinched bronze in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event.
