Asian Games 2018: Ravi Kumar & Apurvi Chandela Open India’s Medal Tally, Win Mixed Air Rifle Shooting Bronze

Apurvi and Ravi won the medal after finishing behind the China and Chinese Taipei teams. The pair shot 429.9 points in the 48-shot final after 42 shots. Chinese Taipei bagged gold with Games Record score of 494.1 points while China settled for silver with 492.5 points.

The Indian pair qualified for the final with a score of 835.3 points behind South Korea which scored 836.7 points.

Korea and Mongolia finished fourth and fifth respectively in the event held which is being held for the first time at the Asian Games. Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar bagged their maiden medal at the Asian Games. She will be aiming for a better performance in the 10m Air Rifle Event.

Both Chandela and Ravi Kumar had finished after topping the qualification rounds, shooting a combined total of 837.9 at the first ISSF World Cup in Mexico.

Meanwhile, Manu Bhaker and Abhishek Verma, India’s 10m air pistol mixed team missed berth in the finals as they finished sixth in qualification round with 759 points.
