According to Tunu Gouda, he first met the dog 16 years ago. Despite the fact that he has acquired several dogs over the years, he feels that Anjali was a lucky break for him.
Particularly with dogs, human-animal relationships are exceedingly intimate and frequently resemble attachment bonds between parents and their baby children.
Similar events took place in the town of Paralakhemundi in the Gajapati district of Odisha when a large funeral procession was held for a pet dog that had passed away after living with the family for around 16 years.
Tunu Gouda, the proprietor of the pet dog Anjali, led the burial procession.
Gouda claimed to have first met the dog 16 years ago. Despite the fact that he has acquired several dogs over the years, he feels that Anjali was a lucky break for him.
The family, who had a strong bond with the dog, was devastated when Anjali passed away on Monday morning. After the family pet passed away, everyone was observed sobbing hysterically.
Before the dog was carried outside, the grieving family gave it a turmeric bath and garlanded it.
Then, with DJ music playing and drums banging, the beloved dog was brought to a beautifully adorned truck. Later, a funeral procession was carried across the city to the sounds of DJs, traditional musical instruments, and fireworks. Numerous locals also participated in the parade.
Later, Gouda carried out the beloved dog’s final rites in accordance with customary ceremonies and declared that further post-death rites would also be carried out in accordance with custom.
“Earlier, I struggled to make ends meet by working odd jobs at various stores. But it wasn’t until Anjali entered our lives that my financial difficulties ended. I never had another issue after that. However, despite treatment, we were unable to save her life, Gouda remarked as he bade the dog farewell.
Gouda declared, “I would organise a communal feast for Anjali just like it is done after a human creature dies.
