In a resounding declaration of their commitment to preserving Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and 5T Secretary VK Pandian are making strides in ensuring that Jagannath culture thrives in every village throughout the state. The launch of the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ scheme marks a significant step toward this goal.
In a virtual launch ceremony held in Puri and Nayagarh districts, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled this visionary initiative. He stressed that places of worship in villages will undergo essential renovation, with dedicated funds allocated for this purpose. Furthermore, heritage sites of great historical significance will be safeguarded, ensuring that they endure for future generations to appreciate.
The Chief Minister passionately emphasized that the roots of Odisha’s culture will be fortified through the propagation of Jagannath culture and the restoration of places of worship. He went on to underscore that Odisha, the land of Lord Jagannath, embodies values of equality, peace, and service in its cultural identity. “The pursuit of these values represents Odisha’s mission in the 21st century,” he asserted.
5T Secretary VK Pandian revealed that a substantial budget of Rs 14.36 crore has been earmarked for the repair and rejuvenation of ten temples in Puri district. Notably, a generous allocation of Rs 35.48 crore has been approved for the renovation of eleven shrines in Nayagarh district, with an additional Rs 4.6 crore dedicated to the restoration of the Jagannath temple at Ranpur.
