A top-notch laboratory for the visually handicapped will soon be installed at the Odisha-based Integrated Infrastructure Complex, which offers social security to various vulnerable populations.
The Integrated Infrastructure Complex (IIC), built across several districts in Odisha with the goal of empowering the elderly, the underprivileged, and those with special needs, will soon welcome a top-notch laboratory for people with visual impairments.
By providing proper infrastructure support for learning and skill development, they want to improve the lives of those who are visually impaired with their most recent installation. This addition to the IIC would also include contributions from numerous top NGOs and social professionals who have worked together on the project over time.
Khordha Will Become More Diverse
The Khordha district in Odisha has been chosen as the site for the construction of the top-notch laboratory facility. Each student at the Complex will receive reading materials like the Kindle, as well as various technological assistance that are geared toward the blind, according to the concerned department and officials. All of these would be implemented with the intention of improving learning and providing students with resources that would help them study.
Prior to this project, a single window portal will be created to keep track of all organisations, non-governmental organisations, teaching and non-teaching employees, and special school pupils in the IICs. The IIC initiative in Khordha currently offers social security to senior residents and children with special needs.
A recent review meeting where the development of IICs in the ten districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Puri, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Sundargarh, Ganjam, and Nabarangpur was examined resulted in the decision to broaden it to include more vulnerable populations.
Government of Odisha’s 5T Initiative
Bhaskar Sarma, Commissioner of the SSEPD Department for Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, undertook it. According to sources from the New Indian Express, the programme would be carried out as part of the State government’s 5T plan, under which the IIC project also belongs.
The Odisha government established the 5T initiative, a citizen-centric governance process that evaluates the effectiveness of public servants and projects in terms of teamwork, technology, transparency, transformation, and time constraints.
