The state administration is now preparing to develop the area’s tourism potential, inspired by TIME Magazine’s designation of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district as one of the World’s Greatest Places of 2023 earlier this week. To evaluate the infrastructure deficiencies in and around Devkund, Bhimkund, and Khiching, a delegation from the state tourist agency travelled to the district’s hinterlands on Saturday.

“The potential for tourism in Mayurbhanj has increased as a result of TIME’s acknowledgment. Devkund and Bhimkund will receive infrastructure improvements so they may become destinations for adventure and environment tourism “Vineet Bhardwaj, the district collector for Mayurbhanj, stated.

Bhardwaj continued, “To draw tourists, activities like trekking, for example, are planned. To encourage religious tourism, we also intend to establish Khichakeswari Temple (Khiching).”

On Thursday, TIME published a list of the 50 most amazing places to visit in the world by 2023, including Mayurbhanj. TIME claims that Mayurbhanj is the only location on earth where it is possible to see the incredibly rare black tiger.

Recently, Mayurbhanj received a visit from private secretary (5T) V K Pandian of chief minister Naveen Patnaik, who requested that the district government engage in development initiatives to draw tourists.
