The 40-page black diary and the 16-page pocket diary may contain details on the recruitment scam, according to the investigative agency. Important entries about cash payments for illicit appointments, among other information, are found in the black journal.
It is also believed that the journal has vital information and specifics concerning Arpita’s interests in a number of Tamil Nadu and Odisha films. There is also widespread speculation that funds obtained from the alleged recruiting scandal were also used in Odisha.
It is important to note that Arpita, who contributed to a number of Bengali and Odia movies between 2008 and 2014, may also have connections with some producers in Odisha. If Arpita used the money from the recruiting scam to fund movies in Odisha, a thorough inquiry is being requested to determine the connections and who the producers gained from.
At Arpita Mukherjee’s home, ED agents found cash in the amount of Rs. 21.20 crore, gold valued at about Rs. 90 lakh, and foreign money at about Rs. 60 lakh.
Partha Chatterjee was moved to Kolkata early on Tuesday morning after being admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar earlier in the day. Later, he was brought to the CGO complex Saltlake’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) office. Partha Chatterjee and his assistant Arpita Mukherjee have been detained by the Enforcement Directorate until August 3.
