Acting on a tipoff, police today raided the unit and seized around 5000 litres of adulterated mustard oil and packaging instruments. The owner of the unit Gouranga Chandra Panigrahi claimed that he has obtained necessary permission to manufacture mustard oil.
“Investigation so far revealed that the owner has been procuring rice oil and mix some chemical to manufacture mustard oil. He has been selling the oil in rural areas for past few months. We are further interrogating him,” said a police official.
