Shiv Alleges that Governor gave 48 hours to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and gave just 24 hours to them to get support letters.

NEW DELHI:The Shiv Sena has moved the Supreme Court against Governor’s recommendation for President’s Rule in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari had rejected Shiv Sena’s plea seeking three-days time to get letters of support from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress.

Shiv Sena has alleged that Governor Koshyari gave 48 hours to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and gave just 24 hours to them to get support letters.

Shiv Sena has also alleged that governor has acted in haste at the behest of BJP.

Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had earlier in the day consulted senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal for legal recourse as to why they were not given three-day time to form the government in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, according to sources the cabinet has approved recommendation of President’s Rule in the state.

On the other hand, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday spoke to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and authorised three senior party leaders to hold further talks on the issue of government formation in Maharashtra.
