The ruling party BJD submitted a petition to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha Surendra Kumar in connection with the discrepancy in the afternoon, in which it alleged that the saffron party workers captured at least 12 booths during polling today.
By submitting videographic evidence to substantiate the claim, BJD members also claimed the involvement of BJP’s Bari MLA candidate Biswa Ranjan Mallick’s brother Soumya Ranjan’s involvement in the rigging and capturing of booths. The MLA aspirant’s brother and his aides attacked BJD voters, they alleged.
As per the BJD petition those booths where rigging and capturing took place are, 158-Ramachandrapur, 162-Alipur (1), 163-Alipur (2),164-Badachandrasekharpur, 165-Bari Panchayat High School, 166-Bari Panchayat High School, 167-Krupasindhu Bidyabhaban Bari, 168-Bari Urdu U.G. M.E. School, 169-Bari Urdu U.G. M.E. School, 170-Bari Urdu U.G. M.E. School, 181-Udayanathpur Prakalpa Bidyalaya, and 182-Udayanathpur Prakalpa Bidyalaya.
