In multiple raid conducted by district police Malkangiri at different places of the district on the information that during puja festivals the miscreants are being engaged in unlawful act of gambling.
In the raid the police team arrested forty numbers of accused persons and seized total cash of ₹87400/-. The raids made as fallows; in Malkangiri town six were arrested with cash of ₹17760/-, in Kalimela 3 arrested with cash of ₹10190/-, in MV-79 6 arrested with cash of ₹6030/-, in Mathili no one arrested but cash of ₹540/- seized,
in Chitrakonda 9 arrested from two different places with cash of ₹ 1680/- & ₹39900/- respectively, in Motu 16 arrested from three different places with cash of ₹4100/-, ₹4200/- & ₹3000 respectively were seized. Police also seized 10 motor cycles, 11 mobile phones, playing cards, polythene mats, towel, candles from the spots. A total of 9 cases were registered at different PS’s of Malkangiri district.
