During the preparation of upcoming election in neighbour state Chattisgarh, again rebels spotted violence. Rebels triggered landmine on 168 Batallion CRPF Jawans, also exchange of fire took between rebels and security personnel. In the said exchange of fire 4 jawans were killed and 2 injured.
Reportedly, the jawans were on journey to Timapur from Murdanda. At Durga Mandir bridge the rebels triggered the landmine and started blind fire on jawans. Jawans also countered the fire but resulted death of 4 and 2 injured. Out of 4 jawans 2 are Head constables, 1 ASI and 2 Constables.
“Backup force released to the spot . We are prepared to safe-guard the upcoming election. Due to some minor fault the said incident might have occurred. In the said area some help by locals were forwarded for the demolish of ribels from the area. It is assured in upcoming days such mistakes will not be repeated”, said DIG P Sundaraj.
The deceased jawans were identified as, ASI Mir Mathiur Rahaman(50) from West Bengal, Head Constable P M Behera(43) from Odisha, constable S H Prabish(21) from Andhra Pradesh, Constable Srini Kumar(26) from Andhra Pradesh and the two injured jawans were identified as Constable Baburao Sidheswar from Maharastra and Hardik Suresh Kumar from Gujrat.
