Bhubaneswar: 2856 foreign returnees not traced in #Odisha. They include 400 from Bhubaneswar, 450 other parts of Khurda district, 650 from Ganjam, 300 from Cuttak. Odisha health secretary NB Dhal writes to all collectors & municipal authorities to emphasise on surveillance & contact tracing to contain Covid19 .
“Active surveillance is the foundation of prevention and containment The updated data that has been received (enclosed) indicates that 2856 persons who have returned from abroad during the last 14 days could not be contacted by District Surveillance teams so far These persons could infect others unless home quarantined They need to be contacted at the earliest to ensure their home quarantine. This task has to be carried out by Collectors and Municipal Commissioners
You are requested to focus on surveillance and contact tracing . You must personally review the three important focus areas as stated above from the perspective of disease Prevention and control,” said Odisha health secretary NB Dhal in a letter to concern officials .
