According to an official, the Odisha government on Saturday authorised 25 projects totaling Rs 5,827.27 crore in investment, creating jobs for more than 25,000 people.
The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, which was presided over by Chief Secretary PK Jena, saw the approval of the Odisha government for the projects falling under various sectors.
The meeting also suggested three sizable projects to the High-Level Clearance Authority, with an investment value of approximately Rs. 28,000 crore and employment prospects for roughly 19,000 people (HLCA).
According to the official, 16 projects were presented for clearance in the meeting on Saturday out of the numerous investment intentions collected during the Made In Odisha Conclave 2022.
Districts like Khurdha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, and Bhadrak are scheduled to host the approved projects.
At Malipada in the Khurda district, the SLSWCA authorised three projects in the plastics industry totaling Rs 392.10 crore.
In the steel sector, eight projects in total were approved. Three of the units will be built at Kalinga Nagar, but the remaining units will be built in various other regions of the state.
These eight companies from the steel industry have contributed a total of Rs 2418.49 crore.
Projects in industries like food processing, infrastructure, hotels, information technology, pharmaceuticals, and textiles were also approved at the SLSWCA conference.
