2 killed in a electricity mishap: Villagers blocked NH-26 demanding compensation….

Tension gripped in Semiliguda under Koraput district when two killed in an electricity mishap in Pakjola Pnachayat in Semiliguda block and demanding compensation the locals blocked the NH-26.
Reportedly, the helper of the truck parked the vehicle for washing near a stream, when he raised the rear carrier of the truck with hydrolic lift, it accidentally came in contact with a low-lying live electric wire. getting contact to 33KV he shouted loudly, in a bid to rescue the helper, another youth who was busy in some other work, rushed to rescue but he too got contacted to the electric resulting the death of the duo on the spot.
On being informed, fire service personnel along with the local police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. The bodies were later sent to a hospital for post-mortem.
The deceased persons were identified as Raghuram Dishari (25) (Helper) of Ranikana village and Laxman Jani (20)(Bike owner) of Kodigam village.
Taking the incident in view, the locals blocked the National Highway- 26 for near Semiliguda by burning the tyres demanding compensation for the deceased family.  The NH traffic was disrupted. Later the truck owner declared Rs.1.2 Lakhs of compensation to both  deceased families. Similarly, Red-cross declared Rs. 10000/- and SDPO Electrical department declared Rs.10000/- and the traffic was resumed after 5hours.
Semiliguda Inspector-in-charge Sunita Behera, Virat Pattnaik, Babula Pradhan, Sunabeda IIC Mamata Panigrahi, DSP Iswar Ch. Dash, Pottangi MLA Praffula Pangi and Semiliguda Chair-person Dinesh Khora were on the spot.
