Today early morning around 3:30am while Mudulipada PS staff were performing MV checking and blocking dutyon SH-47 road near Podaghat Chowk, detected cannabis of 102 kg from one maruti Eeco Car(Ambulance) and one Tata Xenon pickup along with arrest of 5 accused. They were transporting the said cannabis from Chittrokonda.
The accused were identified as, Muna Yadav(22) from HB Colony Rayagada, Rajat Jayant Haldar(24) of Bhalsua New Delhi, Mahesh Kumar Chourasia(22) Saroop Nagar New Delhi, Anup Kumar (27) Balsua New delhi and Budu Khemundu Orkel Malkangiri.
The accused middle man Muna Yadav along with three others had come from Delhi in said ambulance to procure cannabis @1700 per kg to sell it @12000 per Kg. the Buddu khemundu pf Kambharguda under Orkel PS in Malkangir was providing plloting service through his Xenon pickup vehicle to check the presence of police and ensure safe passage for the ambulance vehicle containing cannabis.
The accused persons and seized articles were produced before the Hon”ble Court of District Judge cum Special Judge Malkangiri. Investigation is under process to identify involvement of other accused persons behind the case.
