More than 5,170 individuals in Odisha would have access to employment prospects thanks to these ten industrial projects, each totaling Rs 1923.60 crores.
On Saturday, October 8, 2022, the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of the Government of Odisha met for the 113th time, with Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra presiding. 10 industrial projects totaling Rs 1923.60 crores were authorised by the committee, creating jobs for more than 5,170 persons in the state. Projects from a variety of industries, including power and renewable energy, chemicals, IT&ESDM, food processing, oil and gas, metal downstream, technical textiles, tourism, and infrastructure were approved during the meeting. Odisha will see the implementation of the approved projects, with 4 of them going up in Khordha and 1 each in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Angul.
The SLSWCA approved M/s Luminous Power Technologies Private Limited’s request to establish a manufacturing facility in the Angul Aluminium Park for advanced chemistry cell (ACC) batteries, fuel cell batteries, power storage batteries, and solar batteries with a proposed investment of Rs 481 crores, creating jobs for more than 1,150 people in the state.
The committee also approved M/s Silox India Private Limited’s application to build a chemical production facility in the Paradeep Industrial Area. The plant is anticipated to generate 15000 MTP of cobalt, nickel, magnesium, lithium, and zinc metal salts, as well as 25000 MTPA of sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate and 2000 MTPA of zinc formaldehyde sulphoxylate. Over 800 individuals in the state are likely to find work as a result of the unit’s construction, which would cost Rs 500 crore.
The committee also authorised M/s Happiest Minds Technologies Limited’s investment of Rs 265 crore in the construction of a software development facility supplying IT services at O-Hub in Info-valley SEZ, Bhubaneswar. Over 1500 highly skilled job opportunities are anticipated to be generated by the project in the state.
The 5-star Hotel Hyatt Regency, which M/s MGM Resorts Pvt. Ltd. invested Rs 180 crores in, received committee approval for the hospitality sector. The New Marine Drive Road in Puri will see the development of the project. The committee also approved M/s Oil India Limited’s oil and gas exploration facilities at Patkura, Kendrapada, and Astaranga, Puri, each with an installed capacity of 10KLPD. OIL would invest more than Rs 108 crores in the state, creating jobs in these two places for more than 115 people.
The Rs 150 crore aqua feed manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 1,80,000 MT proposed by M/s IFB Agro Industries Limited was also authorised by the committee in the agro and food processing sector. A potential workforce of around 270 people is anticipated for the project, which would be located in Balasore’s Somanathpur Industrial Estate.
